Owen Jefferson was a prominent Jamaican economist and academic who served as the Senior Deputy Governor of the Bank of Jamaica and taught at the University of the West Indies. He is best known for his seminal work 'The Post-War Economic Development of Jamaica' (1972) and his contributions to Caribbean dependency theory and regional economic policy.
