William Gilbert Demas

Trinidadian economist and public servant who served as the first Secretary-General of CARICOM (1973–1974) and the second President of the Caribbean Development Bank (1974–1988). He is a foundational figure in Caribbean economic integration theory, best known for his work on the development challenges of small island states.
